GLS Branch Athleague is a small village located in County Roscommon in the province of Connacht in Ireland. It is situated 10 km (6 mi) east of Roscommon town and approximately 150 km (90 mi) northwest of Dublin. The village has a population of approximately 400 residents.
The area has a rich history that dates back to the Bronze Age. There are several archaeological sites located here, including a fort, rath, and bullaun stones. In addition, there is a nineteenth century five-arch bridge located over the River Suck near the village.
Athleague is home to several amenities, including two pubs, two shops, and a post office. There are also a number of restaurants nearby, some of which offer traditional Irish fare. In addition, there is a small marina located on Lough Ree just outside the village.
The village is home to a number of sporting clubs and facilities, including Gaelic Football, hurling, and camogie. It also hosts a number of annual festivals and events including an agricultural show in August, the Rocket Festival in September, and the Party at the Bridge in October.
