While we weren't advised the walk in saving certs counter closed for lunch, the security guard gave us a great recommendation for a cuppa. They opened promptly at 2pm and Rachel on the desk was really helpful and so nice to my Mam. Lovely experience overall. Thanks to you both

10 counters, only 3 open on the last Monday morning before Christmas with 20+ people queuing. Pretty embarrassing.

Staff member not trained on bureau de change this morning, did not know the regulations regarding US Dollars issuance. Was told you need passport or drivers licence to obtain just €300. So I left and rang GPO head office and was advised it's for only amounts of €1,000 and above you need Passport or photo ID. Went back in for a 2nd time to speak with the female member of staff, showed her the section on Bureau de change on An Post website. Replied the website is wrong, left at the counter for 30mins. Then when she returned came out with the in correct amount. At this stage the interaction was negative. I asked for a supervisor called Karl Kenny, said we need your name and date of birth. Again I repeated there is no mention of this on the website. I took my business elsewhere and logged an official complaint with GPO Head Office. Terrible staff and will not be ever going back to this branch. Well done An Post.

I am from another country, I live temporarily at the address, they will soon be relocated to no one knows where, so I ordered a parcel to this office, but when I came to receive it, they told me that they did not know me, they would not accept my parcel, they would send it back to the sender !!!!! why do you need a post office?
Michelle Bourke-girgis - 2021-07-29
@Andrej Tomic. The envelope you purchased was a prepaid envelope suitable for worldwide posting...so no postage stamp required!! They should have explained that to you. Lovely modern office with friendly staff 👌

This is now the only post office that serves the inner city on the south side of the river, so for that reason, it can be very crowded and queuing times can be long, with nowhere to sit down if you have mobility issues. However, the staff are always efficient and friendly, and in addition to the usual services, there is a good range of stationery for sale. There are post boxes both inside and outside the building, for convenience.

So my mom collects stamps and gets them in every country. Of course she wants one from Ireland. So she walks into this post office and walks out with a HUGE smile.... the postman inside after she bought a stamp, he gave her a free one. A small little thing like this made not only my mom smile but made her trip special. Thank you! :)

Very disappointed and dissatisfied with such a lazy staff and baldy knackers working while proper workforce is at home unemployed. They have time in closing time to sell you overly priced envelope, but as soon as you pay for it, they don't seem to have enough time to give you stamps and finish what you came there to do. Thay man shouldn't be working anywhere near customers, unless they're prisoners (so they hopefully help him retire earlier). Not to mention the prices for their so called services. 1,8€ for a single flat envelope is a joke.

The Staff is Great, Friendly and Patience. Anyway the prices are indiscutable. The most expensive Post in hole Europe.

Not sure how the postal service in Ireland can keep going much longer on current basis. Disorganised and not at all customer oriented. Even signage is misleading and when you ask about it, you are told to join the one long queue although there appears to be a separate counter for parcels. Sky high prices and subsidies doubtless keep the operation just about afloat. It is almost 2 euro to post a card - unbelievable but necessary to patch up the sheer inefficiency of the operation I guess. The service is a shock to anyone used to the reformed services in most other EU countries where they actually try to serve the customers. Very, very old-fashioned civil service organisation and the staff look pretty unhappy too.
