Dog insurance not a hope! I went with An post as it was an established Irish and what I thought to be a reliable company. The dog insurance is outsourced to a company in England. I submitted a claim 2 weeks ago and it's still to be assessed! I've already paid almost €500 for an initial vet consultation and now my dogs surgery is tomorrow which I will have to pay another €2500 myself. I will have to wait to see if the insurance will cover it, which there is no reason why they wouldn't. I definitely do not recommend An Post insurance. I can't believe the experience I've had with them, I've had to borrow money to pay these fees.

I have both car and home insurance through AnPost. 1. No charge to make a change one off change to your policy, this should be standard in the industry but it is not and I appreciate An Post for this. 2. Wait times are basically non existant! Evrytime I ring, I am connected to a person within 5 minutes, and normally immediately. 3. Staff are knowledgeable, efficient and polite, what more could you ask for. 4. I got a really fantastic car quote this year for fully comp and full NCB protection.... Lowest offer from a competitor after lots of shoppibg around was €50 more expensive with no NCB protection.

Phones are answered straight away. Staff are helpful and straightforward. I've been with them five or six years and every year the renewal is realistic and the cheapest in the market. Every year I add a temporary driver and it takes no longer than 2 or 3 minutes. I'm not a fan of insurance companies but post insurance run a great operation in my experience.

Contracted An Post , for a quotation on car insurance, the person I spoke to was not very helpful and not anxious to discuss the quotation, appeared anxious to finish call. Quotation also much higher than my own provider. Munster Insurance, who have plenty of time to talk , and advise on appropriate cover.
