Adding to the long-running chorus of people who never received any notification that a delivery attempt was made. No phone call, no text was received at any time that day, and we were home the entire time. Worse yet was that the slip said that they would only hold our parcel for a few days, meaning that we had to come down in exceptionally stormy weather, by bus (like many people, we don't have a car), to walk for 15 minutes through an industrial estate with barely any sidewalks to pick it up. Even had the weather been decent, the area around felt generally unsafe and the entire thing was a colossal waste of time that could have been avoided if only the post had actually done the bare minimum and tried to notify us at all. Why would we ever order anything for delivery through An Post if this is likely to happen again?

Alan, a friendly man at the desk was extremely helpful and went out of his way to locate my passport delivery. He followed through with the query and made sure everything was sorted. I was very stressed but felt calmer as he was able to problem solve while staying positive and friendly.

Literally the worst post office service i have seen in my life. And i have lived in 3 countries so far. My package was supposed to be delivered Friday, i was up and waiting since 7:30, nobody came. From my window i have full view of the road, it is impossible for anyone to approach without noticing. I called around 17h and they told me they can not reschedule delivery, i have to pick itup myself. Also they are open on Saturday from 9 to 14. Went there on Saturday at 11, closed. Went again today, asked why my package was not delivered, they told me "somebody tried to deliver at 8:20 on Friday but noone was at home" , a pure lie. 1 star because there is no option for no star.

I dread having to call down to this office. Last year a dress worth €200 went missing. When I called down I was told I had signed for it and then told I should check with my neighbours or rubbish bins in the area. I did, and heard many horror stories of broken letter boxes from packages being shoved through, packaged being thrown away because the post man put them in a wheel bin on collection day. I went back and asked to see this signature and I was told that it was protected by GDPR. If it was my signature I should have been able to see it. Eventually I was told they had turned off their computers for the evening...20 minutes before closing time. The next day the post man "Tom" called and abused one of my housemates saying he signed for it. 2 weeks later, the dress turned up. Turned out it was shoved in a window of another room in my building, the person who lives there was away at the time. I was in the house that day and nobody even knocked! Today I had a notification saying my delivery was signed for, again, and I was at home all day.... Here we go again.... no satisfaction when I called to the depot. Apparently, the package was delivered "and signed for" yesterday. I was told not to "shoot the messenger" and that there wasn't really anything they could do, as it states on their computer it was delivered. Worst service ever!! If I could give no stars I would!!

Shockingly unreliable and inconvenient. Not sure what is the point of online shopping if that means I will have to pick up the package later from the the side of highway. This system has no consideration towards those who are not home during working hours and those without a car.

The worst delivery service I have ever experienced. Every time I have a parcel to be delivered by them I know I’m going to have problems. They can take a week to realize that the parcel has arrived at their branch and when they finally show up at your house they just leave the “you weren't home” notice without ringing the intercom.

Already 3rd time in one month the post officer Route No 468 keeps on not bringing the package and randomly leaving notes as undelivered. So angry right now. Trying to reach out South depot with no one picking up.... This person doesn't know what is his job? FYI, We are at home all day as we work from home... not sure why he/she lies like this so frustrating. Just 40 min ago they left note of undelivered and I was actually waiting for it.

Thieves working here. Whenever a package has a significant value on it someone tries to gold onto it and takes forever to deliver it. Meanwhile dodgy updates the tracking to show that its delivered or its at the depot for 10 days

Have been waiting for a parcel from abroad. As per tracking number ‘delivery failed’. I work from home so I was at home while they ‘ attempted’ to deliver. They never called me on my mobile or my doorbell, never left a note in my mailbox. Re-delivery unavailable. My parcel was just left there. Staff are always nice once you get there (very bad location).

My package made it to this centre and it went no further. They made no attempt at delivering my package. They didn't contact me. They just left my post sitting there. If it weren't for tracking I would have had no idea where it was and would have had to had it resent Also the place is miles outside the city. Staff are nice and helpful when you do eventually make the pilgrimage out there though All in all. Pay for better service

I, always find the staff here super friendly and courteous.. I have to say today the postman delivered a letter to me in Wilton. He is a great man. He made sure all our parcels. Letters safely inside. I must find out his name. He does great work and has always a kind word. This place is awful to get to if you don't drive. The nearest bus stop is 20 minutes walk away, along a busy country road. Poor footpaths, bad lightning, not safe for pedestrians. Staff are grand though.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Called the driver. "Yeah we'll do an evening delivery. I'll be there around 15:30". They basically kept me all evening at home. He didn't show up or let me know anything. I could have picked it up myself if he told me that he wouldn't make it. This people doesn't give a ****. I paid for express delivery. I have lived in several countries and this is the worst postal service by far. Do yourself a favor and use other options.

This is the worst postal service out here you can get. Allegedly the Postman had trouble to reach me and left a delivery attempt when I was at home the whole day. He also selected registered parcel to cover his steps while the parcel wasn't registered. I called the customer service to have my package re-delivered on Monday. But little do I know this was again another blatant lie. These couriers are lazy and fake delivery all the time.

I spoke with a representative of An Post who assured me that my parcel had been scanned into the South Cork sorting depot in Togher on Thursday. When it did not arrive with the rest of my post on Friday morning, I visited the depot in Togher to see if I could collect it from there (benefit of the doubt it may not have made it out for delivery), and sure enough I was told that it had never even arrived in the first place. So, either the track and trace system is faulty, or the online representative of An Post lied to me, or both. The track and trace showed the package was sitting in the Dublin parcel office on Wednesday. A 5-6 day turnaround on domestic post within Ireland? Laughable! My advice. Pay for couriers. It's more expensive but at least you'll receive what you paid for in a timely manner. I have also had a recent letter that was sent to me by friends. It made it as far as the Portlaoise sorting office and then it just disappeared into the ether. We must have one of worst postal services in Europe, surely.

Pretty woeful. Place is grim, unintuitive, and inconvenient. You best hope you can access a car, or do what I did, and waste 20€ taking a taxi only to be told "it's not here, but it should be". Every time a parcel comes through this place, it's an effort in time and money to collect it. They don't attempt delivery, just leave a slip to come get it in Narnia. Pray your stuff transits through Little Island, who seem to have no problems delivering to our address.

The only problem is it's location...really outside Cork city proper and only available to reach via car, though I have walked there after getting a bus most of the way...it is not a nice experience to have to walk there...it is quite a lonely out-of-the-way place...

The worlds worst delivery service. There are far better donkey delivery services way op near Tibet on the Himalays. The wasters in the upper floors of the Cork GPO should be relocated out in this industrial estate without a bus service. This would make room for a collection point in the city center. Zero star.

Lazy liars. As soon as I saw in Amazon that my parcel had fallen in the hands of CORK SOUTH CITY D.S.U., I knew I wouldn’t get it they day I was supposed. Exactly as the last time, I received an sms saying they had attempted a delivery, which is a lie. These guys get lazy on Fridays... I purchased a phone online, I was waiting at home all day long. i live in a house near Boreenmanna Road, Suddenly out of the blue O saws that they tried to reach me but no answrz. I am so upset waiting all day long, staring and checking the tracking but noone even give me s call or mail I tried to speak w Post but unsuccessful. I have a phone number, an email so I try to imagine how they try to connected me, parking in front of the house and shouted my name or knocking on the big massive wooden gate or hoooow. Maybe I am wrong but it is not a proper service

This is a terrible location for people who don't have access to a car. No nearby bus stop, no pavements for walking, if you come from the city centre you have to cross a motorway. A rat ran across my path when I went to get my package and the location feels unsafe to walk after dark. Why can't the depot be in the GPO or somewhere more accessible?
